8 Words to Describe a Church

Celebrate the Church with Words or Pictures.

Use this worksheet to help children think about the church – either universal or their home parish. With a simple black-and-white graphic as the main emphasis (noun) in the oval, learners need only to think of eight different words to describe the church as a building or the keeper of the Catholic faith.

Examples could be a parish, big, brick, old, beautiful, plain, reverent, house of God, worship, Mass, sacramental, universal, community, faithful, ancient, faith, and so forth. Words should fit the student age group.

This sheet is designed for individual or classroom use and may be printed in grayscale if desired. Children could be encouraged to draw and write different words if they are describing their home parish.
