Help Kids Be Ready to Take on the Day with the Armor of God F3 Activity.
The Armor of God F3 Activity introduces young Catholics to the tools to do daily battle in the world based on Ephesians 6:10-18. St. Paul notes six pieces of armor. They include the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes of readiness, the shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of Spirit (which is the Word of God.)
This F3 (Flip, Flap, Fold) cut-n-paste lesson creates six flap pieces to attach to a student sheet. Each little "book" not only names the piece of armor, but it also provides a simple explanation and multiple Scripture references to aid in understanding.
How to use the Armor of God F3 Activity
First, select and print a student sheet for each student. (Note that two student sheets are provided - one featuring a boy and another featuring a girl as the central character). Provide each student with a set of flap pieces as well.
Next, have students cut the strips out on the solid grey lines. Then, fold the strips on the dotted lines provided and glue the blank folded sides together to create a little book. Glue the prepared pieces onto the student sheet where noted being sure that the flaps can open to reveal the text. Finally, have learners read the parts and explore God’s Word.
