Help Young Scientists Explore Science with the Basic Chemistry and Physics Terms F3 KWL Activity.

 
Use this cut-n-paste Basic Chemistry and Physics Terms F3 KWL Activity to help children explore the meanings of basic terms used in chemistry and physical science, including the following terms.

  • atom
  • compound
  • element
  • formula
  • matter
  • mixture
  • molecule
  • solution

Learners will be asked to note what they already know about each term, what they want to know, and (after a bit of research or a lesson) what they learned about it.  Students fill in the information, cut out the pieces, and glue them into place.  Finished pieces can be glued into a science notebook or an appropriately sized piece of cardstock. A collection of F3 pieces could be bound together using clasp rings, metal brads, yarn, or a comb spine.
