Help Students Get to Know Each Other and Teachers to Organize Activities with the Creature Match-Up Icebreaker Game or Grouping Tool
The Creature Match-Up Icebreaker Game or Grouping Tool can help encourage students to meet classmates and other learning partners in a group or classroom setting. It can also help teachers break organize learners into groups. This activity can accommodate a very small group of students up to a large group of 135 students.
Twenty-seven cute baby creatures are featured. As part of this activity, students will also review the particular day God created human beings and certain animals during the week of creation. Reading is not necessarily required.
How to Use the Creature Match-Up Icebreaker Game or Grouping Tool
Students will find others with matching cards or criteria, including the same creature pictures, colored boxes, or day of creation, to share information or gather into groups for learning activities. This game is a friendly alternative to counting off by twos, etc. Some instructions are included. There are additional ways to use the game pieces not mentioned.
Teachers can create groups using any of the following criteria.
1. Group the pieces by exact duplicates.
2. Group the pieces by creatures.
3. Group the pieces by the box color.
4. Group the pieces by the day of creation.
There may be additional ways to use the pieces in a classroom or group setting.
