The Find It In Scripture Game: Six Parables from Christ Can Help Teach Young Catholics Faith Lessons.

The Find It In Scripture Game: Six Parables from Christ helps children learn six of the over thirty parables in the New Testament by reading and exploring Holy Scripture. Each Bible passage presented highlights a particular parable taught by Jesus, including the Parable of the Talents, Parable of the Widow and the Unjust Judge, Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builders, Parable of the Lost Sheep, Parable of the Sower, and Parable of the Prodigal Son.

This Montessori game gives a pictorial reference for each Biblical passage, solidifying the parable in young Catholics' minds and hearts.

How to Use the Find It In Scripture Game: Six Parables from Christ

First, print out one playing set per student, group, or team of students - one playing board, six playing pieces, and one answer key. Next, cut the playing pieces apart and laminate them if desired. Supply players with a Bible and the playing game. Using the passages for each square on the main playing card, have players look-up and read the Scripture passage. Then, players should match the picture card to the proper biblical reference. The specific image and wording provide additional clues to the correct answer. Once all six pieces are in place, players may check their work with the answer card provided.

Learners can work individually, in teams, or in groups to read the clues and find the matching playing pieces. An answer card is provided to allow children to check their work independently.

Another way to use this set is to allow students to glue the images into place as a one-time use activity.
