Create a Bulletin Board Lesson Using the Imitate Jesus Display Activity.
Need a unique lesson to help teach Catholic kids about the Baptism of the Lord or imitating Christ? Try our Imitate Jesus Display Activity, which is perfect for a CCD or Religious Education class. Not only does it incorporate group discussion as a teaching tool, but it can accommodate any number of students.
This CCD lesson can help children to learn that Christians must imitate Christ. Jesus’ baptism showed obedience and love to God the Father. It also demonstrated that Jesus was ready to do the will of His Father in Heaven. When we are baptized, we are united with God and should also be prepared to do the will of God and imitate Jesus.
As part of this activity, learners will provide one example of a way to imitate Jesus in their daily life. The inspiration for this lesson is the Gospel of St. Luke 3:21-22 - The Baptism of the Lord. This beautiful event is also the First Luminous Mystery of the Holy Rosary.
