Moses Mobile Activity
Teach Young Catholics About God's Humble Servant with the Moses Mobile Activity.
The Moses Mobile Activity is designed to help children become familiar with the person of Moses and his role in God’s plan for the deliverance of the Israelites out of Egypt and to the Promised Land. It was even said that Moses was the humblest, meekest man on earth at that time (Numbers 12:3).
Four pieces hang from this mobile. There is one part to represent a different event in the life of Moses. All the student pieces are provided in black-and-white, but children should be encouraged to color and decorate the pieces. One side of each dangling medallion provides a title and Scripture reference while the other has an illustration for students to decorate if they wish.
As part of completing the activity, the teacher should provide a short explanation for each of the events or read the account directly from Scripture as children prepare their pieces. Older learners may enjoy a small discussion about Moses during or following the activity.
The events highlighted in the Moses Mobile activity include the following.
- God Speaks to Moses from the Burning Bush - Exodus 3:1-12
- The Parting of the Red Sea - Exodus 14:21-31
- Moses Brings Water from the Rock - Exodus 17:1-7
- Moses Gives the Ten Commandments - Exodus 20:1-21
The Moses Mobile Activity file includes a supply list, instructions, Scripture references, and student sheets.
