Rosary Match-Up Game (Classic Art Version)
Teach children about the life of our Lord and His Mother, Mary, by using the Rosary Match-Up Game (Classic Art Version) as a guide.
This game uses classic art to illustrate the twenty important events in the life of Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary as presented in the devotion of the Holy Rosary. Children match up the individual events with the appropriate group of Mysteries. Classic art has been used to depict the events and highlight details from them. A clear oversized font helps make this printable game useful for early readers and those with visual challenges.
How to Use the Rosary Match-Up Game (Classic Art Version)
First, print out the files and cut the pieces apart on the lines. Next, separate the main titles of the Mysteries from the decade pieces. Then, Mix up the remaining pieces. Finally, have players match them to the appropriate Mystery. To make the game more challenging, ask players to place the decade pieces in their proper order under each title heading. Younger players may be encouraged to use the pictures as visual cues to group the decades.
Although this Rosary Match-Up Game is simple enough for first graders, it is also a great review tool for older learners and those new to the Catholic faith. A title piece marks each group of mysteries, while each decade is represented by a part with its name and a corresponding image.
This game has been used successfully in the CCD classroom, and it is a fun alternative to formal testing.
