Rosary Match-Up Game
Use This Rosary Match-Up Game to Invite Little Hearts and Hands to Learn About the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
Although this Rosary Match-Up Game is simple enough for first graders, it is also a great review tool for older learners and those new to the Catholic faith. A title piece marks each group of mysteries, while the decades have strips with their names and corresponding images.
How to Use the Rosary Match-Up Game
First, print out the files and cut the pieces apart on the lines. Next, separate the main titles of the Mysteries from the decade pieces. Then, Mix up the remaining parts. Finally, have players match them to the appropriate Mystery. To make the game more challenging, ask players to place the decade pieces in their proper order under each title heading. Younger players may be encouraged to use the pictures as visual cues to group the decades.
This game has been used successfully in the CCD classroom, and it is a fun alternative to formal testing.
The images used in this game are also featured in the Life of Christ Timeline for Children.
