The Sacred Heart of Jesus Family Prayer Project celebrates June as the month dedicated to our Lord's Sacred Heart by praying the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In this 33-day project, families will pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus daily, focusing and discussing the daily invocation provided. A litany is a liturgical prayer consisting of a series of petitions prayed by a leader alternating with specific responses by the congregation or people. This method of prayer appeals to youngsters because of its repetitive nature, which offers comfort while encouraging participation.

Pope Leo XIII approved this litany for public use in 1899. It includes written invocations from three different authors spanning 1686-1899. There are thirty-three (33) invocations in this litany—one for each year of our Lord's earthly life.

This download has an instruction sheet, 33 invocation pieces, a prayer chart, matching pieces, and a printable Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in a child-friendly layout.
