Celebrate June as the Month Dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Praying the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus One Invocation at a Time.

In 1899, Pope Leo XIII approved this litany for public use. It includes written invocations from three different authors spanning the years 1686-1899. In its final form, there are 33 invocations, one for each year of our Lord’s earthly life.

Use this 33-day prayer project to help honor Jesus and His most sacred and loving heart while introducing your children to praying a litany, which is a liturgical prayer consisting of a series of petitions prayed by a leader alternating with specific responses by the congregation or people. This method of prayer can be appealing to children because of its repetitive nature, which offers comfort while encouraging participation.

In this project, families will pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus everyday focusing and discussing the daily invocation provided.

This resource pack includes an instruction sheet, 33 invocation pieces, prayer chart and matching pieces, printable Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in a child-friendly layout.
