A Reference Learning Card for the Seven Corporal Works of Mercy
This set of two identical learning cards focuses on identifying and listing the seven Corporal Works of Mercy. This read-only style learning card serves as a reference for children and allows them to test their knowledge by using the picture prompt on the front to test their mastery of the information on the back.
To create this card set simply print, cut apart cards on the lines, fold down the center and glue. Laminate cards for longevity and durability. Laminating these sets makes a very durable resource that is sure to be used repeatedly or stored more easily. It also adds value to the card telling your learner that the info on the card is important and worth preserving or protecting.
Learning cards are a great help for CCD or Religious Education classes or those teaching or learning in a smaller or limited learning space, and do not have tons of space for posters on walls, reference books or other decorative learning tools. Children enjoy using the cards and referring to them often, especially if they have been laminated and feel like a real "learning gem" in their hands. Cards can easily be stored in a recipe box, decorative shoe box or in a large, index sized plastic container with divider tabs - like the kind you find at office supply stores.
Other ways to implement Learning Cards into your learning routine could include the following.
- Give them out to match and reinforce textbook learning in your homeschool, CCD or Religious Education classes.
- Give them out as rewards for chores well done or good efforts given in learning or personal skill building.
- Give them out to match the events of the liturgical year.
