Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Use this unit study to help teach children learn how Jesus cured the Ten Lepers and that we must thank God for answering our prayers.  This lesson is based on the Gospel of St. Luke 17:11-19.

This week’s Gospel reminds us that God is loving and willing to assist those who call on Him.  As recipients of God’s love and mercy, it is quite fitting that we praise and thank the Almighty. This notion is made crystal clear to us as Christ heals ten lepers and is only shown gratitude by only one of them. “And where are the nine,” He asks.  When we cry out to God, He is merciful and helps us.  We must remember to say thank you and glorify His name.
