Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the 3rd Sunday in Easter.

Use this unit study to help teach children that God always provides for us.  This lesson is based on the account of Jesus' appearance to His apostles in the upper room in John 21:1-14.

In this week’s Gospel, Jesus appears to some of his apostles for a third time since His resurrection.  We witness the second miraculous draught of fish.  It is in this miracle that we are reminded that God loves us and blesses us with what is best for us in our daily lives.  By His own words in the Lord’s prayer, God promises to provide for our needs if we only trust in Him and follow His commands.  We should never fear going to God when we need help.  Jesus  knows what it is like to be human—to be hungry, thirsty, tired, and even poor.  Just as Christ provided fish and bread for the apostles on the shore, He will bless us too in His own way.
