Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the 2nd Sunday of Easter.

Use this unit study to help teach children that the Holy Gospel encourages us to grow in our faith. It is based on Christ's encounter with His Apostles after His Resurrection in the Gospel of St. Luke 24:13-35.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus appears to the Apostles in the locked room. He brings them Peace and gives the commission for them to forgive or retain sins. Thomas is not present and doubts the account of his friends. It is only when he sees Jesus for himself that his faith is restored. The Holy Gospel presents the life, teachings, Passion, Resurrection and glorification of Jesus, the Son of God. It is a sure way to learn about Christ as it encourages us to build our faith.
