Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Use this unit study to help teach children that Jesus wants us to be prepared to meet Him at the end of our lives. This lesson is based on Christ's teaching of the Parable of the Ten Virgins in the Gospel of St. Matthew 25:1-13.
This lesson helps us to focus on the need for preparation to meet Christ. The Lord tells us a simple wedding story which depicts five wise and prepared virgins contrasted with five foolish virgins who succumb to procrastination and lukewarmness.
Jesus Christ, the bridegroom of the Church, will call each of us to Himself, and he wants us to be ready to accompany Him into the kingdom of Heaven. But Jesus cautions us to always be ready for His arrival in Matthew 25:13, “Watch ye therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour.”
