Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Use this unit study to help teach children about questioning of Jesus by the Sadducees and eternal life.  This lesson is based on the Gospel of St. Luke 20:27-38.

This week’s Gospel focuses on eternal life and our role as children of the Resurrection. The Sadducees question Jesus about the limitations of marriage and earthly love based on a story of a woman who was married and widowed seven times. Christ explains that marriage is of this world, but eternal life is for living with and loving God Himself. This lesson reinforces our proclamation in the Apostles’ Creed that we believe in resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
