Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the 4th Sunday in Advent.

Use this unit study to help teach children about St. Joseph's visit from an angel and that we should prepare for the Messiah. This lesson is based on the Gospel of St. Matthew 1:18-24.

St. Joseph was afraid to take Mary as his wife because he was unsure of the child in her womb. An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and assured him that the child was conceived of the Holy Spirit, and that he shouldn’t be afraid to take Mary as his wife. The Fourth Sunday of Advent reminds us that Christmas, the celebration of the birth of Christ, is fast approaching and that we should make sure that we are ready.
