Celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord on Christmas Morning.

Use this unit study to help teach children about the birth of Jesus Christ and the visit from the shepherds in the fields. This lesson develops the theme that Christmas celebrates Christ's birth, and it is based on the Gospel of St. Luke 2:15-20.

On Christmas Day, Christ was born in a humble stable as the Savior of the world. Angels appeared to shepherds in nearby fields to alert them to the fact that the Messiah had indeed come, and that they should go to worship Him. By going to Mass, we too can be like the shepherds and visit the newborn King to pay Him homage. By properly celebrating Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Christ..
