Focus on the Sunday Gospel for Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord

Use this unit study to help teach children about Holy Week, Christ's death, and the need for us to make good decisions lest we end up in sin. This lesson is based on the account of the Passion of Our Lord, Jesus Christ in St. Matthew 27:11-54.

Palm Sunday begins Holy Week. Cycle A does not focus on Christ’s entry into Jerusalem but rather on the Passion of the Lord. Examining the sufferings of Christ reminds us of man’s role and participation in His crucifixion. Choices were made that had a direct impact on the life of Christ. As Christians, we are called to make good choices, including to love God and avoid sin.
