Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Use this 49-page unit study to help teach children that those who are first must be willing to serve others. This lesson is based on Mark 9:30-37.

In this week’s Gospel, Jesus tells His Apostles about His forthcoming Passion and Resurrection. Unfortunately, the men do not understand Him. Instead, they argue and focus on who among them is the greatest. Seeing their pride, Christ teaches them about humility and servitude by saying that those who want to be first, must be last, and the servant of all. We must remember that those who are called “great” have an obligation to help, lead, and serve others.

This fun unit study is suited for a CCD or Religious Education class. It may also be used for Sunday School programs or as homeschool materials.
