Focus on the Sunday Gospel with That Weekly Liturgy Lesson for Kids - 2nd Sunday in Easter (Cycle B).
Use That Weekly Liturgy Lesson for Kids - 2nd Sunday in Easter (Cycle B) to help children understand that Jesus visited His apostles after the Resurrection and that He is God. The inspiration for this lesson is the Gospel of St. John 20:19-31.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus visits the Apostles on Easter Sunday. Christ appears to them in a room even though the doors are locked. He greets them by saying, "Peace be with you." Unfortunately, Thomas is not present and doubts the visit from the risen Christ. Eight days later, Christ again appears to the Apostles. This time Thomas is there and believes in Christ, saying, "My Lord and my God." Jesus wants us to know and believe that He is God, even if we cannot see Him.
