Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the 3rd Sunday in Lent.
Use this Weekly Liturgy Lesson for the 3rd Sunday in Lent (Cycle B) to help teach children about the sacredness of God's house and Holy Mother Church. The inspiration for this lesson is the Gospel of St. John 2:13-25.
God’s house is sacred and holy. We go to it to pray and worship God. It is a place of respect and reverence. It is like our second home, and the people that attend there with us are like extended family members. So it is easy to understand why Christ was so angry one Sunday when He went to the Temple and found it as a marketplace. Jesus chased out the animals and merchants to protect His Father's house. We, too, can protect God’s house by upholding all that it stands for. We do this by being obedient to all of the rules and laws of the Catholic Church.
