Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the 5th Sunday in Lent.
Use this unit study to help children understand the Parable of the Grain of Wheat which speaks of God's love and will for humanity. The inspiration for this lesson is the Gospel of St. John 12:20-33.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus reveals to us that God has a purpose for creating each one of us. As He shares the Parable of the Grain of Wheat, Christ tells us that we must be willing to give up our life on earth in order to be with God in Heaven forever. By His own example, Jesus shows us that we must do the will of the Father to show Him love and obedience. As a reward, the Lord will gather all of the faithful to Himself in Heaven.
