Focus on the Sunday Gospel with Our Weekly Liturgy Lesson - 6th Sunday in Easter.
Use this Weekly Liturgy Lesson - 6th Sunday in Easter (Cycle B) to help children understand that Jesus tells us we must love one another. The inspiration for this lesson is Christ's Commandment of Love given in the Gospel of St. John 15:12.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus gives His followers one task to do; they are to love one another. Not only does Jesus say that they must love, but He also says how they are to do this. They must show love in the same way that Christ did for them. They, too, must be faithful, courageous, kind, and good. They must also show love to God by obeying all of His Commandments. Jesus explains that the greatest way a human being can show love is to lay down his life for his friends.
