That Weekly Liturgy Lesson for Kids - 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Cycle A) Can Help Kids Learn About Forwarding God's Kingdom.
Use That Weekly Liturgy Lesson for Kids - 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Cycle A) to help teach youngsters that little actions can have big results. The inspiration for this lesson was the Gospel of St. Matthew 13:24-43 when Christ tells Parables about the Kingdom—especially the Parable of the Yeast.
In this week's Gospel, Jesus shares more parables about the kingdom of Heaven. Focusing on the Parable of the Yeast, we learn that a woman puts the smallest amount of yeast in her dough, and the whole batch rises. The story reminds us that doing the very littlest thing can have a significant impact, especially when trying to share the hope of Heaven with others. When we tell others about Christ, it can change them and give them hope. In turn, they may even want to spread their joy and hope with others. In that way, we are like the tiniest yeast that can affect change and help God's kingdom grow in a big way.
