Focus on the Sunday Gospel for the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord.
Use this unit study to help teach children about the Epiphany, when the Magi from the East found the Christ Child. This lesson is based on the Gospel of St. Luke 2:1-12.
The Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord celebrates Christ’s appearance to the world as the Messiah, the Son of God. The Wise Men or Magi from the East traveled and searched for many miles to find the newborn King of the Jews. They were overjoyed to find the Christ Child, and they humbly knelt down before Him and offered Him great gifts. This beautiful event proclaims that Jesus is the Savior of the world who is to be made known to all peoples of the world.
