“But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost.” – Matthew 1:20
March is the month that Mother Church dedicates to St. Joseph, the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the earthly father of Jesus. St. Joseph is the model husband who listened to the will of God and devoted himself to care and provide for his wife and child. The Church recognizes St. Joseph twice in the Liturgical Year. He is honored once for being the spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Mar. 19) and again for being a good worker and provider for the Holy Family (May 1). St. Joseph led his family on the straight and narrow path to the glory of God.
